What is the Apache TimeOut on your web hosting servers?

The Apache TimeOut directive "tells" Apache how long it should wait for an I/O operation to finish its process before it is interrupted. We have set this value to 300 seconds for our Shared Hosting Plans, as in our experience, this is the optimal value. There are requests which our clients sent from remote servers that require more time to finish their tasks.

A vivid example would be an API that fetches products from Amazon or a similar vendor and imports them on your site. Depending on the number of products you have set for the API, it could take 300 seconds or even more for it to finish its job. If the time is higher, you should look over your API and reduce the number of products it imports.

If the necessity of your website in regards to the Apache TimeOut directive is higher than 300 seconds, you should consider upgrading to a VPS or a Dedicated Server. These solutions provide the option of setting custom values for all the server-side settings. If you are not sure how to do that, please feel free to submit a ticket to our technical team. They will be more than happy to assist you.
