In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of browsing, installing, and managing extensions in Plesk.

Getting Started

First and foremost, make sure you are logged in to your Plesk control panel. To perform that, please enter your IP address, hostname, or domain name inside your web browser’s search bar and add “:8443” at the end. It should look something like: “https://yourdomain.com:8443”. By doing that, you will be prompted by a login form requesting your username and password.

After logging in with your username and password, Plesk will automatically display the “Websites & Domains” page, which will be your index page from where you can manage everything related to your websites and domains on Plesk. 

Accessing the Extensions Catalog

To browse and install extensions, please locate the “Extensions” option on the left side menu and click on it.

Once you perform the action above, you will see a full catalog of official and third-party extensions, categorized for easy navigation.

The Extensions Catalog includes hundreds of tools designed to enhance your Plesk environment.

Browsing the Extension Categories

The catalog is organized into categories such as:

• Security - Under this category, you will find security extensions that help you make your Plesk server more secure.

• Performance - Under this category, you will find performance extensions that make your server, your apps, your websites, and the services you use faster.

• Backup & Storage - Under this category, you will find extensions that add either storage or backup services to help you back up your server or your websites.

• Development Tools - Under this category, you will find many development tools that allow you to build your websites more easily, using different programming languages.

• Email & Collaboration - Under this category, you will find email and collaboration extensions that help you connect with your customers, business associates, or friends/family.

• SEO & Marketing - Under this category, you will find SEO & Marketing extensions that will help you make your brand more recognizable online.

• CMS Tools (WordPress, Joomla, Drupal) - Under this category, you will find extensions that are specific to a certain CMS and help you optimize or secure the mentioned CMS.

• Utilities - Under this category, you will find utility extensions that help you make the server more flexible and accessible, depending on your needs.

You may browse by category or use the search bar to find a specific extension.

This makes it easy to locate the features you want to install.

Installing a New Extension

To install an extension, first locate the extensions you want to install by browsing or searching for them. You can do so by using the search bar on the top right side of the extension page, or just manually scroll through the extensions until you pick the one you like.

After you find the desired extensions, please click on the extensions tile. In our case, we selected the “Plesk Migrator” extensions, which seem like a great addition to our server.

You can review the description, version, and requirements, and if you think it is a good fit, please click on the “Get it Free” button.

Important: This is a free extension, meaning it can be downloaded and used for free. If it is a paid one, the price will be listed instead, along with the billing cycles and discounts (if available).

Upon clicking the “Get it Free” button, a pop-up window will appear, and inside, you will see a loading animation indicating the installation process. Please wait for it to finish. Once it's done, the entire page will refresh, and you will see a new “Open” button appear near the extension tile.

Please click on it to access and start using/configuring the new extension you just installed! In addition, the extension will also appear under the “My Extensions” tab.

Managing Installed Extensions

To view and manage your installed extensions, from the “Extensions” page, please switch to the “My extensions” tab.

Under this tab, first and foremost, you will see all your currently installed extensions. In addition to that, you will be able to:

• Open an extension’s settings - Please click on the “Open” button corresponding to the extensions in question to start managing their settings. 
• Update extensions - Please click on the extension’s tile to be redirected to the extension description page, where you will be able to see if any updates are available.
• Disable or remove them - Please click on the extension’s tile to be redirected to the extension description page, where you can disable or remove them using the respective “Delete” or “Disable” buttons.
• View developer details - Please click on the extension’s tile to be redirected to the extension description page, where you can see any developer details about it.
• Access documentation or support links - Please click the extension’s tile to be redirected to the extension description page, where you can view documentation or support links, if available.
