How to set up an Email Signature on Android

Introduction

In this tutorial, we will show you how to strengthen the impression you leave during email communication. Whether you use your emails for personal or business purposes, including personalized and unique signature, will grant your instant recognition. Having the convenience of sending and receiving emails on your phone is extremely useful. This tutorial will explain how to create an email signature directly on your Android email application.

Getting Started

Please note that this tutorial assumes that you have gone through the Android email setup process already. If that is not the case, please take a moment to review our tutorial based on How to set up an Email on Android.

To begin, please open the email application on your Android Device. Afterward, please click on the triple bar icon located at the top left corner of the screen.

Triple bar icon

Once you do this, the Email App will present a new menu displaying the current email account and its mailboxes. Please click on the "Settings" (gear) icon located at the top right corner of the menu.

Setting icon

Afterward, your phone will redirect you to the "Email settings" section, where you will see a list of all Android email setups currently configured on your device.

From the available email list, please choose the one for which you want to create a signature.

Setting Up Android Application Email Signature

On the new screen titled with the corresponding email address, you will see a few sections containing different settings related to the email account.

You will find the "Signature" setting located under the "Account settings" section. Inside, you will notice that there is a signature enabled by default. In our case: "Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone". The text will vary depending on the device you are using. Anyhow, none of the default email application signatures sounds personal nor professional.

To change it, please click directly on the "Signature" text. The button next to it allows you to control whether the signature is enabled or disabled so, please make sure you do not disable it accidentally.

On the new screen, delete the default text and enter the text you want your email signature to include. You can use the toolbar at the bottom, which will allow you to customize the signature by adding images to it if needed.

Configuring the Email Signature

Once you are ready, please make sure to click on the "Save" button to record the changes you have made.

That is it! We recommend trying the signature out by sending a test email to ensure your email application signature appears as expected. If you are pleased with the result, you are all set.
