How to setup the Contact and Store pages for your physical stores in PrestaShop 1.7

Introduction

PrestaShop provides you with the option to configure a page for your physical store so it can be displayed to your visitors. On that page, the visitors will get detailed contact information about your physical store, in case they want to go straight there to buy the products you sell. Of course, that feature comes in handy only when you actually have a physical store so today you are going to learn how to set up the Store Contact page for your physical stores in PrestaShop 1.7.

Step 1: Accessing the “Stores” contacts’ page

In order to start the setup process for the page of your physical stores in PrestaShop 1.7, you will first have to login into the main admin panel of PrestaShop. After that, from the left vertical navigation menu look for the “Store Parameters” link. When you find it, please, click on it. You will see a drop-down menu that will appear with the following options:

  • General” -
  • Order settings” -
  • Product settings” -
  • Customer settings” -
  • Contact” -
  • Traffic and SEO” -
  • Search” -
  • Merchant Expertise” -

Accessing the Contact page

From all the options that appear, please, click the “Contact” one. You will be redirected to a page called “Contacts”.

Contacts page overview

You will notice that the page has two different tabs: “Contacts” and “Stores”.

The first tab contains information about the contacts of the Online Store and the second tab contains a list of all the available physical stores. This is actually where you can set up the information for your physical stores, so please, click the “Stores” tab.

Step 2: Brief explanation of the interface of “Stores” page

When you click the “Stores” tab, you will be redirected to a page called “Stores”. The page is divided into two sections. The first one goes by the name “Stores” and the second one is called “Contact details”.

Stores page overview

The “Stores” section provides you with a handy list of all your physical stores.

The information on that list gives details to the customers about the name of your physical stores, address, city, zip/postal code, state, country, phone, fax, enabled - to specify if the store is currently active or no and a final column that you may consider as “Available Actions”.

Stores section overview

The “Contact details” section gives you the option to provide the main details of your company, rather than those for a specific shop.

Please, bear in mind, that the information here has to be the one on your headquarters, only because this is going to be the address where customers will contact you from, or even visit you.

Configuring the Contact Details

The fields that are shown in this section are as follow:

  • Shop name” - this is the section where you have to enter the name of your store. Please, bear in mind, that you have to keep it short, as the same will be used in all your correspondence and page titles. It is important to know that the usage of a colon “:” in your store’s name may prevent some features from working, such as email sending might fail. Instead, you can use a “-” if you have more than one section in the title. For example, instead of using “MyStore: All that you need”, replace it with “MyStore - All that you need”.

  • Shop email” - You have to enter the official contact address for your business. It is recommended for you to use the general contact email address. This way the customers should see the same when they receive an email from your shop.

  • Registration number” - The registration numbers are different for the different countries. You have to indicate your company’s legal registration number, based on your country’s legal system. For example, in the USA the companies have Duns number, SIRET number is for France, CNPJ for Brazil and so on. Please, bear in mind, that setting the proper and legal number is important because that shows that your business is fully registered, which gives more reasons for customers to order from your store.

  • Shop address line 1 / Address line 2 / Postal code/Zipcode / City / State / Country” - All these fields provide the customer with the official contact address of your business. If the country of your physical store is a country that does not have states, then the “State” option will not appear.

  • Phone” - In the “Phone” field the official contact phone number for your business has to be provided there. If you do not prefer the customers to call you, then you have to leave that field empty.

  • Fax” - In that field, the official contact fax number for your business should be entered.
